let's go to the movies

I have been to a few movies since I've been in Montreal (at least two a week). Why you might ask. Well it's sort of an easy way out. It's a relatively cheap activity, lasting about an hour and a half to two hours. I can get completely lost in a movie, which I could do in this city I guess, the later being more dangerous. haha. I usually learn something, about myself or it just makes me think. I've thought about becoming a movie critic, but I don't think I know enough about the actual movies, I'm sure it's something I could learn but that would take time. I've also been able to go as often as I have because I am still unemployed, I'm sure as soon as I become employed I will have less time to go or less cash to go. Unless of course I get a job at a theatre, which I have applied.
Another thing I like about the movies is the previews! Sometimes after seeing the previews I feel like walking out, cuz I feel I've seen the best show already. (did that make sense? haha) What I mean is that, I get so excited for the coming attractions that I forget what I am actually there to see and feel like it will be less than I expected.

on this date in 2007

Five years ago I was in Pittsburgh, PA witnessing my first (and only so far) live NHL hockey game with my sister. The game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Pittsburgh Penguins was broadcast live on Hockey Night in Canada, so my parents were able to enjoy it too. I don't remember all the details about the game (I have it written down, don't worry) but the highlight of the night wasn't the game. After the game we went down to the locker room area, I don't think we were that close to the locker room but that is irrelevant. We were waiting down there for the best player in the NHL, Sidney Crosby!

5 weeks & Habs

As of today I have been living in Montreal for 5 weeks. I know it's been a while since my last post but I haven't really done much. I went to the Bell Centre to look around and take some pictures. There was a scalper, I assume the same as the last time I was there. This time he was following me, I was the only one around, and kept saying that he had hockey tickets. I finally acknowledged him and said no and that is when he left me alone. The Habs Zone seemed closed so I didn't go in (probably for the best, haha).
Last weekend, a few friends from back home were in town. So I got to hang out with them. We played laser tag and just hung out in their hotel room. It was probably the best night I have had in the city and it was nice to have people to talk to.
~~ The following is all Habs related, I won't be mad if you are not interested and stop reading here. ~~
